49. Powder Blue Tangs
Large congregation of reef fish itself provides a wow effect not to be ignored by an avid underwater photographer. If we discover such school we have a strong raw motif, however we still need to work precisely in order to turn the raw material into a “brushed gemstone”. The interaction between the photographer and bigger number of animals, proves our wide angle photography skills as well as ability to move underwater and blend in with the environment better than other photographers. The vibrant coloring of the fish often adds a strong contrast and lots of freshness into our frame. It also provide photographer with opportunity to combine matching colors. While the yellow of sweetlips or deep red of big-eye snappers complement to blue hues of water, the blue-violet tones of powder blue surgeon fish (tang) match with their vibrant yellow fins. The color scheme alone is not enough to create a superb image. We also need harmony of shapes.
