41. Sweetlips in Maldives
For me, sweetlips are the true symbol of tropical seas and one of the most beautiful fish in the ocean. A photograph of single sweetlips fish doesn’t say much, unless it’s a special cleaning occasion, however a school of sweetlips is some of the most attractive motifs an underwater photographer can get in front of his lens. Not only they wear some of the richest yellow tones that perfectly complement the blue tones of the water, the patterns on their bodies add a significant amount of detail to the image. In many places, these fish form beautiful, medium-sized schools that are often cooperative, making them easy to work with. With the huge amount of images produced every day, a careful approach is required to achieve excellent results.
